April Ross

April Ross, a beach volleyball star American is part of a select group of women who have been awarded medals at multiple Olympics. Alix-Klineman is set to compete alongside April Ross Tokyo to win her third gold medal over the next few days. Ross hopes to win an Olympic first gold medal however, she also hopes for greater. As she is 39, it may be her last chance. Her confidence is high but she is not sure. If we do our highest or perform well, I think we'll be able to win that gold medal Ross declared on NBC Boston. Additionally, I'm going to rely on a bit of luck. Ross was born in the city of Costa Mesa, California in the year 1982. Her parents and sister resided in the area. Ross's athletic endeavors was continued by Newport Harbor High School where she played in a variety of sports. She competed in basketball and track, in addition to her indoor volleyball exploits in her time as a college athlete. She was clearly the best in the game of indoor volleyball. According to her bio in high school, she played volleyball as an outside hitter (middle blocker) and setting (outside blocker). Gatorade Circle Of Champions named her the national Player of 1999. She also received her the Orange County Athlete of the of the year for volleyball. Ross has been playing with Klineman since 2017, but Ross's beach game was established well before this. As a matter of fact Ross has won a number of significant tournaments during her time along with her two teammates. One is a volleyball legend. Jennifer Kessy coached her from 2007 until 2013. Along together with Kessy Ross, she won the World Championship in 2009, while racing on the international circuit. The duo would go on to win a silver at the 2012 Olympic Games at London. They were knocked out of the gold medal by the legendary duo comprising Misty and Kerri Walsh (Jennings). Ross Walsh was Walsh Jennings new partner after May-Treanor's resignation. Together, they took home bronze in beach volleyball at the Rio Olympics in the year 2016. Ross competed for USC Trojans in her college years before becoming a professional. Her career was a success in the NCAA tournament. As a freshman in 2000 she fought her way to Pac-10 and NCAA All-American Freshman of Year awards and earned an All-American. The Trojans had the chance to get to the Final Four with her help. Her heart was broken by a personal tragedy during her second year, but she managed to become an All-American once more. In her last two seasons within the team, she guided the Trojans towards the summit netting three consecutive championships at the national level. In 2003-04, Ross was named the top collegiate female volleyball player in the US through the Honda Sports Award. Ross was a student of international relations at USC. Margie Ross did not get to witness Ross become the highest beach volleyball stage. Ross's mom Margie passed away in 2001. Ross was still an USC sophomore. The cancer was diagnosed as breast. However, she continues to remember her deceased parent close and dear. Margie is a beach lover as well as in her everyday life, continues to inspire her.
